| I am so pleased with this DVD player! We bought this for our daughter to watch movies in the car, as she is absolutely in love with Monster's Incorporated (movie) but is not absolutely in love with her car seat. Half of the time she was pretty unhappy in the car and I do a lot of driving with her so I wanted to see if I could distract her a bit with this DVD player. I am so pleased with this product and the results! She was watching Monsters Inc. 7 mintues after I got it out of the box- that's how easy it was to install on the back of our headrest and plug it in! All I had to do was slip the player onto the padded base that is included, strap the player with base onto the headrest with velcro straps, put in the DVD and plug it in (I used our car's cig. lighter that we have in the trunk- wierd place for a cig. lighter/charger, but it sure came in handy this time!). That's it! What else I loved: The remote is so handy for when the movie ends and you have to start it again (and again, and again...) or adjust the volume but don't want to take your eyes off the road. The picture is clear from many angles. My daughter was absolutely riveted from the first second it started playing. The sound is excellent- our car is old & noisy and it turns up plenty loud enough for her to hear. She can kick at it and not hurt it- it's sturdy and the buttons on the front are not ultra sensitive so she doesn't accidently turn it off. In fact, overall it's a very sturdy, well-built product. Once I installed it, I haven't seen it move or jiggle once. I highly recommend!! |

| I bought this player for my restless daughter. The player helped me to keep her busy for several hours on our last road trip. I like the way they design the headrest holder. It is very secure and does not take up a lot of space. She can also take it out and put it in her room. Save me some money on separate TV and DVD player. Love it! |

I needed a DVD-player that was multi-region as I have movies from 5 different zones. In a past I bought a cheap one you had to "hack", and that was a mistake as it didn't work well and didn't last long.
The next-base player is perfect for me because I can use it as a normal multi-region DVD player displaying through my TV, or as a portable machine using its own 7" screen. It is a true multi-region player that detected the type of DVD inserted and automatically set itself to play the movie correctly. I have played US, UK and NZ movies on it will no problem!
However I would suggest buying direct from Next-Base-USA. DBROTH sent me the wrong power cord and adapter (not designed for US wall sockets). They were not responsive to my complaint. But when I went to Next-Base-USA's website and ordered a replacement, commenting on my problem, they gave me the adaptor and shipping at no cost. Thanks Next-Base-USA! :)
I would recommend this product to anyone wanting a compact multi-region player or a portable DVD player--it is very useful! While waiting for my new adapter I am running it on batteries and after 5 hours of viewing the batteries are still holding up fine. It takes normal AA batteries and combined with a good battery charger this portability could be very useful! |

| We bought this to replace a tablet style DVD player that had been converted to attach on a headrest in our car. The old tablet skipped incessantly, making it maddening for our yet-to-learn-patience 2 year old - sound familiar? The front loading style of the Nextbase player eliminated the problem, even on pothole-ridden roads. I'll be buyiong another one soon for our other car. |

The thing works fine while plugged in. But when I put in 6 AA batteries, the screen freezes and does NOTHING! It would be nice if it worked with batteries. need for it work with batteries especialy on long flights...
its ok device, but doesn't work well with batteries so far. will keep you all posted. |
